Dr Alicia Ellis, Clinical Psychologist

Dr Ellis is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia to provide Supervision to Provisional Psychologists leading to registration, and those undertaking a Registrar Programme to gain endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist and is offering supervision within these programmes. Dr Ellis is currently not taking referrals for assessment or therapy.

Dr Ellis assists clinical psychology registrars using her extensive experience in treating a range of mental health disorders and associated concerns.

She has expertise using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Schema Therapy in the treatment of a range of mental health disorders and interpersonal concerns including anxiety disorders, depression, anger management, obesity and disordered eating, relationship concerns, study and educational issues, as well as performance enhancement and behaviour management.

She has worked extensively with parents to assist with behaviour management techniques, and has a keen interest in interpersonal relationships and couples counseling, as well as providing assessment and therapy intervention for persons under ReturntoWorkSA and Motor Accident Commission, as well as emergency services personnel. Dr Ellis is also an approved Australian Defence Force personnel provider. Dr Ellis had published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals on the subjects of bullying and PTSD/trauma. Her experience in community mental health, offender treatment and rehabilitation, and child protection, in addition to experience managing and working in private practice since 2008, offers opportunities for supervisees to gain supervision across a number of evidence based protocols and theroretical and scientific frameworks required for supervisees. She is a past President of the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy, and held office on the committee of the South Australian Branch of the Australian Psychological Society. She is also a member of both the Australian Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, and the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society.
