INDEPENDENT PSYCHOLOGISTS PROVIDING ASSESSMENT AND THERAPY AT THIS ADDRESS

Ms Marni Ahmer (ABN 82 618 873 010) is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with people experiencing insomnia and other sleep disorders. Ms Ahmer also has experience working with children and families who are experiencing separation and parenting concerns, and has a keen interest in working with clients of all ages who experience depression and anxiety. In her private practice, Ms Ahmer has a number of clients who have experienced significant trauma in their lives, and works with them to address the impact of past trauma on current situations. Ms Ahmer has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, and is a member of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society.

Ms Kiaran Thorpe (ABN 61061207860634) is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who works with people of all ages. She can assist with the management of a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, health problems, pain management, parenting, the effects of traumatic experiences, and emotional, behavioural and developmental difficulties. Ms Thorpe draws on a wide range of therapies to individually tailor an approach to best suit each client. Ms Thorpe has a particular interest in assisting children, adolescents, adults and families of all forms to manage the effects of complex and developmental trauma, including problems with attachment, anxiety, developmental and behavioural issues, post-traumatic stress, emotional regulation and the challenges of parenting. Where appropriate, Ms Thorpe can also help parents and children process their shared traumas as part of working towards reunification. Ms Thorpe can conduct intellectual assessments.

SUPERVISION SERVICES

Dr Alicia Ellis, Clinical Psychologist

Dr Ellis is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia to provide Supervision to Provisional Psychologists leading to registration, and those undertaking a Registrar Programme to gain endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist and is offering supervision within these programmes. Dr Ellis is currently not taking referrals for assessment or therapy.

Dr Ellis assists supervisees and registrars using her extensive experience in treating a range of mental health disorders and associated concerns.

She has expertise using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Schema Therapy in the treatment of a range of mental health disorders and interpersonal concerns including anxiety disorders, depression, anger management, obesity and disordered eating, relationship concerns, study and educational issues, as well as performance enhancement and behaviour management.

She has worked extensively with parents to assist with behaviour management techniques, and has a keen interest in interpersonal relationships and couples counseling, as well as providing assessment and therapy intervention for persons under ReturntoWorkSA and Motor Accident Commission, as well as emergency services personnel. Dr Ellis is also an approved Australian Defence Force personnel provider. Dr Ellis had published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals on the subjects of bullying and PTSD/trauma. Her experience in community mental health, offender treatment and rehabilitation, and child protection, in addition to experience managing and working in private practice since 2008, offers opportunities for supervisees to gain supervision across a number of evidence based protocols and theroretical and scientific frameworks required for supervisees. under She is a current member and past President of the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy, and held office on the committee of the South Australian Branch of the Australian Psychological Society. She is also a member of both the Australian Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, and the Clinical College of the Australian Psychological Society.
